Resumen:	This document specifies requirements for field applied coatings for the mechanical protection of steel pipes with an corrosion protection coating. It deals with requirements and tests of field applied coatings for the mechanical protection of joints and repairs of factory applied coatings of polyolefin coated steel pipes according to DIN 30340-1 as well as of fittings. The requirements can also be applied analogously to steel pipes and fittings with other corrosion protection coatings. In addition to the mechanical and technological characteristics of the testing of fibre cement coatings, the document also contains the corresponding characteristics for glass fibre plastic coatings and field coatings made of thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics such as polyurethane. This document is therefore applicable to all common types of field coatings for the mechanical protection of steel pipelines with corrosion protection.
