Compression seals made of elastomer for sealing or covering joints in concrete and masonry - Part 1: Round profiles

| Resumen: | This document is applicable to compression sealing profiles as round profiles (circular cross-section) made of closed-cell elastomer with a closed surface and for sealing or covering joints in concrete against ground moisture, non-pressing or pressing water. This document is applicable for covering joints in masonry against ground moisture and non-pressing water. Typical applications for compression sealing profiles made of elastomer are joints in reservoirs, sewage treatment plants, retention basins, underground joints in sewer structures and flood protection walls. This document specifies requirements for the material and installation. Application examples are given in Annex B. This document provides guidance on the selection of different base polymers of elastomer compression sealing profiles that can be used for the following exposures: 1) Waste water; 2) Groundwater; 3) Drinking water; 4) seawater; 5) Ozone exposure. This document is not applicable to compression sealing profiles made of other materials. This document is not applicable for LAU systems, JGS systems and biogas systems. This document is not applicable to elastomeric joint profiles made of vulcanized rubber for concrete pavements, which are standardized in DIN EN 14188-3. This document is applicable for sealing up to an uniaxial deformation of ±10 % with non-pressing water. Note: A static load with a simultaneous water pressure load of more than 0,4 bar can be determined, e. g. by tests, calculations or comparable successful application examples, e. g. for individual cases in consultation with the client and the manufacturer of the compression sealing profile, even higher water pressures. |
