Resumen:	This document specifies a method for the determination of the growth inhibition of unicellular green algae by environmental samples. This method is applicable to: - treated municipal and industrial waste water; - fresh water; - aqueous extracts and leachates; - eluates of soils and fresh water sediments; - pore water of fresh water sediments. For testing the effects of e. g. poorly soluble organic or inorganic substances or preparations, volatile substances, coloured and/or turbid samples certain modifications of the described procedure may be required. Guidance on appropriate modifications is given in ISO 14442:2006 and DIN EN ISO 5667-16:2019-03. NOTE Extraction and concentration of water samples is not part of this International Standard.
