| Resumen: | This document specifies a measurement procedure for the determination of the pore diameters of continuous pores in porous monolithic solids by means of capillary flow porometry (porometry), for which measurements of the gas flow through the sample to be investigated are to be carried out and evaluated both in the dry and in the liquid-saturated state. The pore diameters determined with the aid of a cylindrical pore model have the character of an equivalent pore width, since real through-pore channels usually deviate to a greater or lesser extent from a cylindrical geometry. The determined pore diameters always characterize the narrowest point of the respective pore channel. Such solids are, for example, filters, membranes, fabrics, textiles, sintered metals, porous ceramics, screens, electrodes, paper and materials for ultrafiltration. The measurement range of this method includes pore diameters in the range of about 0.015 µm to about 500 µm. In contrast to mercury porosimetry, no pore volumes can be determined and only continuous pores are recorded. |
