| Resumen: | Currently, across Europe, several different systems are used for the size designation and labelling of clothes. This is confusing for consumers and creates inefficiencies across the supply chain. The objective [intention] is to harmonize and simplify the size labelling of clothes for the benefit of consumers and the industry generally. In order to size mass-produced clothes, the body size of the intended wearer needs to be defined and identified. In order to communicate the size of a garment clearly and visibly, a pictogram is used together with body size ranges of the intended wearer. Within this document, the values and intervals are provided for reference purposes as examples of best practice and have been adjusted taking into account the latest sizing surveys carried out in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Spain and Sweden. |
