Resumen:	The document specifies an accelerated test, using mercury(I) nitrate, for the purpose of detecting the presence of residual (internal)stresses in wrought copper and copper alloy products that might bring about failure of the material in service or storage through stress corrosion cracking. While this method has also been used for testing assemblies and partial assemblies, it is not intended for that purpose, and some modification may be required for such use. Das Dokument legt eine Kurzzeitprüfung fest, in der Quecksilber(I)nitrat angewendet wird, um das Vorhandensein von (inneren)Restspannungen in Halbzeug aus Kupfer und Kupfer-Knetlegierungen festzustellen, die zu Werkstoffehlern als Folge von Spannungsrißkorrosion bei der Beanspruchung oder während der Lagerung führen können. Da dieses Verfahren auch zur Prüfung von zusammengesetzten Bauteilen oder teilweise zusammengesetzten Bauteilen angewendet wird, ist sie dennoch nicht für diesen Zweck entwickelt worden und einige Änderungen dürften in einem solchen Fall erforderlich werden.
