| Resumen: | This document specifies the minimum safety requirements for the design, material properties, workmanship and testing of inflatable boats and rigid hull inflatable boats of an overall length LH according to ISO 8666 of less than 8 m and with an engine power of at least 15 kW. This document applies to the following categories of boats intended for use in a temperature range from -20 °C to +60 °C: - Category VII: power-driven boats (with an output of min. 15 kW), equipped with a buoyancy aid covering the port and starboard sides, suitable for cruising in conditions for design classes C and D and with an engine output of at least 15 kW; - Category VIII: power-driven boats (with a power greater than 75 kW), equipped with a buoyancy aid covering the port and starboard sides, suitable for cruising in conditions for design class B and with an engine power of at least 75 kW. NOTE 1 The construction and main components of typical Category VII and VIII boats are given in Annexes A and B, respectively. This document excludes single-chamber boats and boats made of beamless materials and does not apply to water toys and inflatable life rafts. NOTE 2 For recreational craft under the European Union Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) equipped with an inboard engine and a non-standard integrated exhaust system, noise emission requirements shall be considered. |
