Resumen: This standard specifies a precision method for measuring the component of sound intensity normal to a measurement surface enclosing the sound source of which the sound power level is to be determined. The measurements are performed by scanning a intensity probe over the measurement surface, either manually or by means of a mechanical system. The octave band or band limited weighted sound power level is calculated from the measured one-third octave band values. The method is applicable to sources producing noise stationary in time, and is applicable in specific test environments.
